Medication Management

Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management

A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a mental health professional to understand an individual's emotional, psychological, and behavioral health. The goal is to diagnose any mental health conditions, inform treatment options, and develop a personalized care plan.

We provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for clients ages 18 to 65 yo who are currently undergoing therapy but feel they need further treatment.

We believe a team approach is necessary to ensure all of your mental health needs are met. If you are not currently in therapy, we collaborate with several fantastic, compassionate therapists throughout the area and can make the appropriate referral.

We treat a range of mental health issues and specialize in Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Depression, and PTSD.

GeneSight Psychotropic Test

We offer Genesight testing for patients who have tried several medications and can't seem to find the right fit.

GeneSight testing is a genetic test designed to help healthcare providers make more informed decisions about medication management, particularly in the realm of mental health. It analyzes how an individual's genetic makeup affects their response to certain psychiatric medications.

The test typically examines specific genes associated with the metabolism of medications, which can influence how well a patient responds to drugs used for conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and schizophrenia. By identifying genetic variations, GeneSight can categorize medications into three groups:

  1. Gene-Drug Interactions: Indicates medications that may be effective or ineffective based on the individual's genetic profile.
  2. Caution: Suggests that certain medications may require careful monitoring due to potential adverse effects or reduced efficacy.
  3. Recommended: Highlights medications that are more likely to be effective based on the genetic information.

The goal of GeneSight testing is to personalize treatment plans, reduce trial-and-error prescribing, and enhance overall patient outcomes in mental health care.

This testing can be done in office or have a test kit shipped to your home.
